Step 1: Access Your Hecto Hints Dashboard

Open your web browser and visit www.hectohints.com.



Step 2: Sign In and Access Your Dashboard

2. Click on 'Sign In' to access your Hecto Hints account. Once signed in, you'll be directed to your dashboard.



Step 3: Manage Promo Codes


Step 3.1: Click on 'Manage'

3.1. In your dashboard, locate the 'Manage' option, typically found in the bottom left corner.

Step 3.2: Access Promo Codes Section

3.2. Click on 'Promo Codes' to access the promo code management section.


Step 4: Apply Promo Codes


Step 4.1: Select Listings or Courses

4.1. In the promo code management section, you will find a radio button for 'Listings/Courses.' Select this option to apply your promo codes from the available list.



Step 4.2: Add Promo Code

4.2. Enter your promo code (e.g., "SAVE50OFF" or "HALFOFF"), ensuring it contains only alphabets and numbers without spaces. A promo code is a unique combination of letters and numbers that users can enter to receive a discount.



Step 4.3: Choose Promotion Type

4.3. Select the promotion type from the radio buttons such as Flat DIscount / Percentage Discount.



Flat Discount: A flat discount is a specific amount deducted from the original price of a product or service. For example, if you offer a flat discount of $20, users will receive a $20 reduction in the cost.


Percentage Discount: A percentage discount is a discount calculated as a percentage of the original price. For instance, if you provide a 20% percentage discount, users will receive 20% off the total price.


Step 4.4: Define Discount Value


4.4. Depending on the selected promotion type:

If it's a 'Flat Discount,' enter the value for the discount.

If it's a 'Percentage Discount,' enter the discount value as a percentage.



Step 4.5: Provide Promo Code Description

4.5. Write a description about the promotion or promo code, ensuring it does not exceed 150 characters.


Step 4.6: Set Start and End Dates and Times

4.6. Select the promotional start date and end date, and also specify the start time and end time.


Step 4.7: Define User Limit

4.7. Enter the numerical value for how many users can avail this discount. This ensures the promo code is available only for those users.


Step 4.8: Specify Maximum Discount Value

4.8. Indicate the maximum discount value a user can receive.


Step 4.9: Choose Promotion Application Mode

4.9. From the drop-down menu, select the Promotion Application Mode as:


Public (Visible to all): When you set the promotion as "Public," it means the promo code and discount are visible to all users on the platform. Anyone can use the code.

Private (Only selected users): If you choose "Private," the promo code and discount are only accessible to specific users. You'll need to share the code personally with those users.

Auto Apply (Applicable to all): When you opt for "Auto Apply," the promotion is automatically applied to all listings and courses without the need for users to enter a code.



Step 4.10: Allow Single User to Use Code Multiple Times


4.10. Choose whether to allow a single user to use the code multiple times (Yes or No).


Yes - Same user can avail the discount multiple times: Selecting "Yes" means that a single user can use the promo code multiple times to avail the discount.

No - Same user cannot avail the discount multiple times: Choosing "No" ensures that the promo code is applicable to a user only once, preventing multiple uses.


Step 4.11: Select Where to Apply the Promotion

4.11. Choose where you want to apply the promotion. Options include:


All the listings/courses: This option makes the promotion applicable to all the listings and courses that fall under your expertise.

Selected categories: The promotion is limited to specific categories of listings and courses that you've created.

Specific listings: If you select this option, the promo code is valid only for one particular listing or course that you specify.



Step 5: Save Your Promo Code Settings

5. Click on 'Save' to confirm and save your promo code settings.
